Artificial intelligence has enhanced many industries, but it’s also leaving some companies behind, including a production company that specializes in content.
A small business owner expressed dissatisfaction about AI slop slowing down their business on Reddit (NYSE:RDDT). The company has only signed two big clients and hasn’t had any small or medium-sized clients.
“It appears the entire middle market got destroyed by AI slop,” the business owner said. “You are underestimating the magnitude of this.”
Don’t Miss:
One Redditor was concise and didn’t hold any punches when describing how AI may hurt the creator economy even more. The commenter emphasized that consumers want a result and don’t care how it is achieved.
“Whether it’s done by some struggling artist who puts 40 hours into a piece, versus an AI generated output that’s created in 30 seconds, it’s all the same to the consumer as long as it’s passable to fulfill their need,” the commenter said.
It can explain why many people have been watching AI-produced videos or reading articles that were produced by AI.
“Some of the grown adults I work with watch it all day long and can’t seem to get enough,” one commenter said.
The same commenter who said that consumers won’t care too much if their videos are produced by creators or AI in the future also suggested that students take a closer look at what they’re learning in college.
“I think it’s inevitable that many of these creator jobs are going to become obsolete, and young people should give a good, hard look at what they study in university now more than ever,” the commenter said.

Artificial intelligence isn’t as good as the best creators, but it’s getting better over time. Multiple entrepreneurs brought up that AI is still in its early innings and that it will only get better from here.
“AI slop is quickly getting much better and it is the worst it will ever be,” one commenter said. “Don’t think things are going to go back.”
Several business owners complained about how addictive AI slop has become, with some users saying they want to “stay off of Facebook entirely” and “throw [their] phones away.”
