Surveillance footage showed Rodriguez approaching the slot machines armed with a hammer as customers use two of them.
A man is seen trying to stop him but he smashed three of the machines and took cash from inside, police said.
Rodriguez stole around $9,000 from inside the machine and later returned the cash but refused to pay for the damages, estimated to be around $14,000, the report said.
Rodriguez, of Homestead, was arrested and booked into jail.
