Some homes and businesses may be seeing delays in mail delivery as crews try to navigate around the mess left behind by last week’s winter storm. But a business in South Jersey shared that their issues started weeks before that, and it’s been causing headaches and affecting their bottom line.
Dianna Frazier and her co-workers are gearing up for the busy spring season, and their Pennsauken-based business, Circus Time Amusements and Entertainment, is a full-service rental company that’s been serving the tri-state area for 40 years.
“We bring all of what we say, ‘our fun’ to you,” said Frazier.
However, it’s been anything but fun for them since the beginning of January, when their daily mail delivery became more infrequent before stopping altogether about two weeks ago.
“It’s a huge effect because a lot of our customers send us our deposits or their full payments through the mail via check. So, we don’t know what payments we’re missing,” said Frazier.
Fraizer and her co-workers visited the local post office in Pennsauken, hoping to find answers and the missing checks.
“They said that they don’t deliver our mail out of that post office. Gave us a name and a number to call. So, we called that number, they don’t answer,” said Frazier.
Fraizer said she doesn’t believe her business is the only one affected and that after speaking to others in the area.
“We are getting the runaround. And there’s been no offer saying, ‘why don’t you go to this location to retrieve your mail,” Fraizer shared.
After speaking with Fraizer, NBC10 went up the chain at the United States Postal Service to determine why their mail wasn’t being delivered. A few hours later, Circus Time Amusements and Entertainment began receiving all its mail, and among the pile was an important document dated January 14.
“We’ve gotten checks in. State permits in that need to go on our rides. Tax information. A lot of stuff,” said Joe Martinez of Circus Time Amusements and Entertainment.
NBC10 is still waiting for a response from the post office as to why it took so long and where the mail has been.
