Small business credit card perks
Discounts and statement credits
Some business credit cards offer cardholders instant access to discounts on software that may be useful to their business. Other than discounts, some cards may offer limited-time offers like exclusive free trials or free credits to try out a business-related service.

You can also get a $250 statement credit for spending at least $600 on Adobe purchases per calendar year for your business. (enrollment required)
The Business Platinum Card from American Express is a premium business card loaded with statement credit offers for business services and travel that help justify its steep annual fee.

- Earns flexible rewards you can transfer to 20+ airline and hotel loyalty programs (Enrollment required for select benefits mentioned; Benefits may be subject to auto-renewal)

The point is, if you need to sign up for these services for your business anyway, you might as well use the card to receive a statement credit (or other discounted offer), so you can save some money on your bill. Think about some of the services, brands and retailers you use for your business and see if credit card issuers offer a discount if you pay using their card.
Targeted rewards categories
The beauty of some business credit cards is that you can earn points for categories that are relevant to your business’ needs. Think business travel, office supplies, internet service, rental cars and more. Using the right credit card can help you get rewarded for money you have to spend regardless — and those points and miles you gain can offset the cost of future business travel or be redeemed as statement credit.
If you’re considering credit cards with these kinds of perks, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card (see rates and fees) gives you 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year.

Another contender, the American Express® Business Gold Card offers rotational rewards categories. You can earn 4X points on the two categories where your business spends the most each month. You have six categories to choose from and these categories can change but the 4X points can be earned up to the first $150,000 spent across those two categories (after, 1X points). This way, you don’t have to pigeon-hole yourself into rewards for spending categories pre-set by the issuer.
The six categories are: U.S. media providers for advertising, software and electronic goods, restaurants, gas stations, transit purchases and wireless phone services.
The American Express Business Gold Card maximizes spending with flexible bonus reward categories based on where your business spends the most.
- Earn up to $545 in credits every year for eligible business purchases
- Generous bonus rewards categories with high spending caps
- Earns flexible rewards you can transfer to 20 airline and hotel loyalty programs
