Shippo has named Brad Ramsey its new chief marketing officer (CMO), adding a veteran technology marketer.
The shipping software provider seeks to expand beyond small businesses and deepen its platform-led growth.
Ramsey reports to CEO Laura Behrens Wu and will lead Shippo’s global marketing and sales organizations, with responsibility for go-to-market execution across small and midsize businesses, midmarket customers, platform partners and developers.
About the new Shippo CMO
Ramsey brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing leadership experience at high-growth technology companies. Most recently, he served as chief marketing officer at Pirate Ship, where he led brand and growth initiatives that supported the company’s expansion into small and midsize business segments. Earlier, he held senior marketing roles at Facebook, Google, Twitter and Quizlet, working across both consumer and business markets.
“Brad brings a rare combination of brand leadership, operational rigor and experience scaling marketing organizations,” Behrens Wu said in a statement.
She said the hire supports Shippo’s efforts to invest in new capabilities and expand its solutions to serve larger organizations.
In the role, Ramsey will focus on strengthening Shippo’s cross-segment go-to-market strategy, refining its brand positioning and supporting continued platform growth as the company expands its reach among ecommerce brands, marketplaces and technology partners.
Founded in 2013, Shippo provides shipping software used by more than 300,000 businesses to compare real-time rates, access global carriers, print shipping labels, automate international paperwork, track packages and manage returns.
