TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Several schools and businesses in southern Arizona will be closed on Friday, Jan. 30, for the National Day of Action.
Organizers are asking students to walk out of school, teachers to call out, businesses to close, consumers to refrain from shopping, and people to rally.
It is one part of the growing anti-ICE demonstrations following the two fatal shootings in Minneapolis and immigration enforcement operations.
SCHOOL CLOSURES

- From 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m., the Tucson chapter of Veterans For Peace, and others, will host a candlelight vigil for Alex Pretti outside the VA Hospital at 3601 South 6th Avenue.
- Starting at 2 p.m., there will be a rally outside the federal building at 3000 West Congress Street in downtown Tucson.
