B2B News | Australian electric motorcycle manufacturer Savic Motorcycles has appointed veteran technology executive Marc Alexander as Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership shift as the company prepares for a major growth phase in 2026.

Alexander brings more than 25 years of experience spanning enterprise growth, EV systems, autonomous platforms, IoT, and consumer and automotive technology. His background includes scaling global technology businesses, experience Savic is banking on as it moves from boutique production into international markets.

The appointment follows the successful close of a $2 million strategic funding round, giving the Melbourne-based brand fresh capital as it ramps up manufacturing capability and global ambition. Alexander has already been working with the company in recent months, implementing operational improvements ahead of formally stepping into the CEO role.

Savic founder Dennis Savic will remain closely involved, continuing in a strategic capacity as a Board Director while collaborating with the leadership team on key initiatives.

“We’ve built Savic Motorcycles from the ground up, taking a bold idea and turning it into a world-class electric motorcycle company,” said Savic. “With new capital, new infrastructure, and global demand growing, this is the right moment for an experienced leader like Marc to take the reins and guide Savic through its next chapter.”

Savic added that Alexander’s ability to lead remotely and effectively from Australia played a role in the timing of the appointment, allowing the company to accelerate progress following the funding round.

Timing the EV motorcycle wave

Alexander’s arrival comes as global interest in electric motorcycles continues to surge. According to Statista, the global electric motorcycle market is projected to double over the next five years, reaching US$109.5 billion by 2030 (Statista). Savic is positioning itself to ride that wave with its flagship C-Series, which has already received strong feedback from Australian media following local test rides.

The company plans to maintain full production of the C-Series at its West Melbourne headquarters, reinforcing its Australian manufacturing identity. However, a key part of Savic’s scale-up strategy is the launch of its owned powertrain subassembly facility in Taizhou, China, scheduled to commence operations in December 2025.

The Taizhou facility will focus on EV powertrain manufacturing, leveraging established expertise in the region to increase production capacity, improve supply chain efficiency, and support expansion into global markets, including Europe.

A global vision, built from Australia

“I’ve long admired Dennis’ tenacity and drive to bring his vision to life,” said Alexander. “To now be entrusted to take these foundations and build them into the global brand it will become is an exceptional opportunity.”

Alexander said his focus will be on expanding Savic’s reach while staying true to its engineering-driven ethos. “With the deep expertise we have within the business, I’m excited to help motorcyclists worldwide discover and embrace the C-Series, and to help place Australia as a leading nation in EV technology.”

Savic Motorcycles confirmed that its broader C-suite remains unchanged, with the leadership team now supported by a growing network of strategic investment partners.

As electric motorcycles edge closer to mainstream adoption, Savic’s next chapter will test whether Australia’s most ambitious electric bike brand can successfully scale onto the world stage, without losing the design-led identity that made it stand out in the first place.
