Officers with the Mead Police Department are seeking information that could lead them to whoever burglarized a business in the 14000 block of Hilltop Road.
MEAD, Colo. — Police are asking for information that might help them identify whoever burglarized a business in Mead, stealing items worth tens of thousands of dollars.
On Monday, officers with the Mead Police Department responded to a business in the 14000 block of Hilltop Road after learning that it had been burglarized. According to a department release, police were told the burglars stole property valued at approximately $100,000, including a company vehicle.
Officers used GPS tracking technology provided by the business to locate the vehicle, the release said. Once the location was identified, Mead Police notified other law enforcement agencies in the Denver metro area to collaborate in efforts to find the vehicle.
The Lakewood Police Department initially spotted the vehicle, which then eluded officers, the release said. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office later started a pursuit, but it was eventually called off, according to a spokesperson for the Mead Police Department.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in Cherry Hills Village, the spokesperson said, and many of the items reported stolen were recovered. Although officers are still evaluating the recovered property, it appears that what has been found accounts for most of the property taken by the burglars.
No arrests have been made in connection with the burglary, the spokesperson said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mead Police Department through the Weld County Regional Communications Center at 720-652-4222 or by emailing police@townofmead.org.
