Pigeon Forge Police responded to an alleged planned shooting and bomb threat at a local business Saturday, later discover to be a hoax.
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — The Pigeon Forge Police Department responded to an alleged shooting and bomb threat at a local business Saturday afternoon. Officers with the PFPD immediately secured the area and conducted an investigation.
Following the investigation, no credible evidence was found that showed any violent act had occurred or was imminent, according to Chief Richard Catlett.
The call that prompted the response is believed to be a hoax, according to PFPD. An investigation is currently underway to discover who is responsible for the false report.
PFPD said that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
