South Louisiana businesses and nonprofit groups recently announced the following promotions, new hires and resignations.
New Orleans
Brandon Knatzer
Brandon Knatzer has been promoted to assistant director of physical security of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Knatzer started working at the Convention Center as an assistant production manager and lead production technician and was, most recently, its technology infrastructure manager.
Erin Bigner
Erin Bigner has been appointed as the new executive director of the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce. Bigner previously worked for the Louisiana Crawfish Festival and operated a custom pageant banner shop in Chalmette.
Nine former attorneys of the Fishman Haygood law firm have formed their own New Orleans-based firm called Miller Thibodeaux Dysart Veith & Paschal. Its five partners are Kerry Miller, Paul Thibodeaux, Danny Dysart, Rebekka Veith and Hogan Paschal. Monica Bergeron, Carly McCleskey, Brennan O’Keefe and Dylan Futrell are associates with the new firm.

Baton Rouge
Dr. Lin Dang
Dr. Lin Dang was elected to serve as the chief of the medical staff at Woman’s Hospital and a member of its board of directors for a one-year term. Dang previously served as vice chief of staff, chair of medical staff peer review and currently chairs the hospital’s medical executive committee. A board-certified OB-GYN, Dang practices at Louisiana Women’s Healthcare, where she specializes in both routine and high-risk obstetric care.
Kip Matthews
Kenneth “Kip” Matthews has been named the director of the LSU-Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Dr. Charles M. Smith Medical and Health Physics Program. Previously the program’s interim director, Matthews is the Dr. Charles M. Smith Distinguished Professor of Medical Physics in the LSU Department of Physics & Astronomy, which he joined in 2001.
Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area named five new members to its board of directors. They include: Grant Barone, in-house counsel for The Newtron Group; Stephen Chapman, a vice president of Performance Contractors; Rashida Keith, the director of the legal division for the Louisiana House of Representatives; Beth McNulty, a longtime Hancock Whitney employee; and Nancy Steiner, the CEO of DAA Media and Marketing.
