The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026, pending standard regulatory approvals.
Cymbio, based in Israel and established in 2015, has developed technology that enables brands to connect with multiple marketplaces, online retailers, social commerce outlets, and AI shopping tools.
Its solutions streamline processes including product data management, inventory updates, orders, and billing between brands and retailers.
Prior to this acquisition, PayPal had already partnered with Cymbio within its agentic commerce services offering, a set of tools aimed at helping merchants reach customers through emerging AI-powered channels.
Currently, PayPal’s commerce services and checkout features are available on Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, with plans to support additional platforms such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini app.
Following the completion of the deal, Cymbio’s staff and technology will become part of PayPal’s Store Sync service.
Store Sync allows merchants’ product information to be made accessible on AI platforms, while handling orders through their existing systems.
Companies including Abercrombie & Fitch, Fabletics, Ashley Furniture, Newegg, and Adorama are utilising Store Sync on Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity.
PayPal executive vice president and small business and financial services general manager Michelle Gill said: “PayPal has established itself as a leading commerce partner for merchants looking to sell within top AI platforms.
“Acquiring Cymbio’s technology and team will enhance our agentic commerce capabilities and accelerate the expansion to more of our merchants. By making their product catalogs discoverable on AI surfaces, merchants can increase sales while expanding product choice to the millions of consumers shopping on AI platforms today.”
Earlier this month, PayPal entered into a collaboration with Microsoft to integrate its payment technology into Copilot.
The integration supports a feature called Copilot Checkout, which will first be available on Copilot.com in the United States before expanding to other channels that use Copilot.
