Organizers also described it as a day to celebrate a variety of the Rhode Island’s small businesses.
“This is an integrated event. This type of event is the only one of its kind in the entire country,” Small Business Saturday ShopRI event coordinator Sue Babin said. “Small businesses represent the back bone of Rhode Island’s economy. Over 90% are small businesses. Lets shop local, lets make the day in all year round success.”
