In November, Business North Carolina featured the most significant buildings constructed or rehabbed in the past year. We had nine category winners and eight honorable mentions spread across the state. Other features highlighted how a loophole in state law has created a cannabis economy in the state, the proliferation of data centers and the success of a handful of private equity businesses that have attracted more than $7 billion in investments.
Trend stories included a new start for a historic Burnsville hotel, political changes in the state’s Utilities Commission, a slingshot business in Asheville, what mahjong’s popularity has meant to businesses and the NC Chamber’s winners of ‘Coolest Thing Made in NC.’ The Power List interview was with Cecilia Holden of myFutureNC.
