Angie Allaire has been named the new executive director of Downtown Chambersburg Inc., according to a community announcement.
Allaire, a Waynesboro resident and small business owner, began her new role March 2.
She has a background in nonprofit leadership and corporate operations. In the nonprofit sector, she specialized in social services for children and adolescents, focusing on mental health. Her corporate experience includes roles in operations and strategic planning, where she led global teams and achieved an 83% increase in employee engagement in six months, according to the announcement.

Allaire holds a master’s degree in counseling and is pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership.
She previously served on the board of directors for the Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance.
As a small business owner with her husband, Tim Young, Allaire said that she values communities with rich history and collaboration between business owners and community members.
“I’m so honored to step into this role and serve our community,” Allaire said in the announcement.
