SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A family-owned Vermont business is celebrating a major milestone, marking 100 years of helping Vermonters with bridal and formal wear.
Needleman’s first opened in 1925 in Newport and is believed to be one of the only shops of its kind in the nation that has been continuously operated by the same family.
Owner Mark Needleman said he’s honored to keep the tradition going. “Any time that you can continue to operate a family business that was so successful in the early 1900s and, you know, through the depression and through COVID and all the other obstacles, it’s quite an accomplishment to be standing here and keeping the business going,” Needleman said.
The business on Thursday held a celebration with longtime customers and other businesses at its South Burlington location.
