More than 150 guests gathered at Monroe Golf & Country Club for the Monroe County Business Alliance’s annual Business Gala, a celebration of leadership, innovation and community spirit.
The event, held from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 9 at 611 Cole Road in Monroe, brought together business leaders, elected officials and residents to recognize individuals and organizations making a difference, according to a community announcement.
The evening began with a champagne toast and networking, followed by dinner and an awards ceremony emceed by TC Clements, CEO of the Monroe County Business Alliance. Clements said the honorees “reflect the spirit of the Alliance … focused on our partners.”
Award winners recognized for excellence and leadership
- Legacy Award: Susan Vanisacker, La-Z-Boy — Honored for a career of integrity, leadership and lasting contributions to the community.
- Business of the Year: Merkle Funeral Service, Brian Merkle — Recognized for innovation and outstanding performance in business.
- Rising Star Award: Ryan Kinsey, Kinzit Technologies — Celebrated for early career achievements and entrepreneurial promise.
- Community Enthusiast Award: Tino Amaya, Amaya’s Fresh Mexican Grill — Acknowledged for leadership and dedication to promoting Monroe County.
- Hidden Hero Award: Diane Slatinsky, Monroe Income Tax & Accounting — Honored for behind-the-scenes contributions that support the Alliance’s mission.
Clements said the gala showcases how local businesses and individuals “engage with each other to make a better, brighter tomorrow.”
