MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Onsite Auto Body Solutions on Halls Mill Road is one of the many homes and businesses that lost power after Wednesday night’s severe weather.
Three bodies found: Mobile County Sheriff’s Office
Heather Humphries has been the owner for eight years.
She says Thursday morning, before she came to work, she got a notification from her alarm company about the power at her business.
“I think it was a couple hours before I got here,” Humphries said. “It was out for a little while; the alarm company lets me know when it goes out. But it wasn’t too bad. It was before most people were up moving.”
Washington County high school on alert after rumors of potential incident
Halls Mills Road near the I-65 Service Road also experienced major damage.
Humphries saw it firsthand.
“There was a tree down in the road, and it pulled down several power lines,” Humphries said. “So I’m assuming we had some sort of a tornado or a straight line wind of some sort, but there were many tree limbs down in the road as well. So, pretty good bit of damage. “
Heather said as a result, it took her a while to get to work Thursday morning.
“Traffic was backed up probably a half mile on Halls Mill this morning,” Humphries said. “So as well as on the interstate on I-65 southbound. A little bit hard for me to navigate when we got here.”
