EAST HAMPTON, CT (WFSB) – A man died from being struck by a driver at a business in East Hampton on Friday, police said.
According to East Hampton police, 75-year-old James Bansemer of Colchester was hit in the parking lot of Napa Auto Parts on East High Street.
It happened just before 3 p.m.
“Responding units located an elderly male [who] had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot, and based upon his injuries, Life Star was requested to respond to the scene,” East Hampton police said in their report. “The male victim became unresponsive with no pulse and CPR was initiated.”
However, police said Bansemer was transported to Marlborough Medical Center where he died.
The driver remained at the scene, police said. There was no word on if the driver would face charges.
The incident remained under investigation as of Monday morning.
