Madison liquor store owner arrested after drugs found at business, police say

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Police arrested the owner of a downtown Madison liquor store after officers reported finding a large amount of drugs inside the business.

MPD said officers were doing a liquor license inspection around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the store, located on the 30 block of Bassett Street.

Officers said they found “a sizable amount” of drugs inside the store. They also found weapons and other evidence.

Police arrested the 24-year-old store owner, Jacob McRoberts, on several charges, including possession with intent to distribute.

MPD officers booked McRoberts into the Dane County Jail.
