IT IS CERTAINLY A BIG WEEK FOR BUSINESSES IN OUR AREA, READY TO CASH IN ON THE SUCCESS OF THE SOONERS. BUT ONE SMALL BUSINESS FACED THE FEAR OF SITTING IT OUT BECAUSE OF BROKEN EQUIPMENT. KOCO PATRICK TALBERT SHOWS US THEY FOUND THE FIX IN AN UNLIKELY PLACE. THIS WENT OUT ON US, WHICH MEANT WE COULD HAVE THE NICE CART, BUT NO COFFEE. GIDDYUP. COFFEE CART GETS BUSY WHEN BIG EVENTS HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY EVENTS LIKE THUNDER GAMES OR THE HISTORIC COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF MATCHUP IN NORMAN. BUT AHEAD OF THIS WEEK’S BIG EVENTS, TWO OF THEIR CARTS BROKE DOWN, BRINGING THEIR DAILY GRIND TO A HALT. WE WERE FRANTICALLY LOOKING ON AMAZON, TRYING TO GET THINGS IN TIME. WE’RE LIKE, CAN WE OVERNIGHT THINGS? NOTHING WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT IN TIME. WITH NOWHERE LEFT TO TURN, THEY PUT OUT A CALL FOR HELP AND THEY FOUND IT. WE WERE JUST GLAD WE WERE ABLE TO HELP THEM OUT LIKE THAT, BECAUSE THEY HELPED US WITH A LOT OF STUFF TOO. IN THE DAILY BREAD COFFEE COMPANY, A BUSINESS COMPETING FOR THOSE VERY SAME CUSTOMERS, THEY COULD HAVE, YOU KNOW, SEEN US AS A COMPETITOR AND SAID, SORRY, YOU KNOW, BUT THEY SAW US AS A PARTNER AND THEY SAW IT AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO JUMP IN AND BLESS US. AND HELPING THEM OUT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT TO DO. AND THEY’RE NOT A COMPETITOR TO US. THEY’RE A FRIEND TO US. LOCAL BUSINESSES COMING TOGETHER TO HELP EACH OTHER OUT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. Giddy Up Coffee Carts faced a potential setback due to broken equipment, but a fellow local business, Daily Bread Coffee Company, stepped in to help just in time for a busy week of events.

Nothing was going to be able to make it in time,” said lead barista Macianne Waldenville.In a bid to find a solution, Giddy Up Coffee reached out for help and found it in an unexpected place — Daily Bread Coffee Company, a fellow local business that competes for the same customers. “We were just glad we were able to help them out like that because they’ve helped us with a lot of stuff too,” said Jaedyn Wayland, founder of Daily Bread Coffee Co.Blair Reynolds, owner of Giddy Up Coffee, expressed gratitude for the support.”They could have seen us as a competitor and said, ‘Sorry.’ You know, but they saw us as a partner, and they saw it as an opportunity to jump in and bless us,” Reynolds said.Wayland spoke of the spirit of collaboration.”Helping them out is exactly what we want to do. They’re not a competitor to us.
