Lenoir County woman charged with felony larceny following investigation at local business

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A Lenoir County woman has been charged following a theft investigation at a local business.

Jessica Ellen Spruill, 49, of Dudley, was identified as the suspect.

According to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 1101 W. New Bern Road on Dec. 2 after a report of missing money.

Upon reviewing surveillance video, deputies determined that Spruill, an employee at Fuel Warehouse, had unlawfully removed $2,289.01 from a money bag.

She was charged with felony larceny by an employee and felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies served warrants for Spruill on Dec. 6.

She was issued a $6,000 unsecured bond.
