KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City police shut down 2 businesses and issued 23 citations in a weeks-long crackdown on illegal gambling machines in East Kansas City.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says its Vice Squad investigated three businesses over several weeks. Two were shut down, but all three received citations.
Investigators indicated that the operation targeted electronic gaming machines that pay cash prizes to users. City law bans those machines.
Police say more enforcement actions are planned in the coming weeks. The names of the two shut-down businesses have not been released.
