US sandwich franchise Jersey Mike’s has appointed fast food restaurant industry veteran Andrew Skehan as President of International as it seeks to expand its global reach, with a focus on Canada and the UK.
Skehan has worked in international strategic leadership for over two decades, leading franchise operations and international growth for several well-known brands.
Until July, he was President and CEO of Home Franchise Concepts, one of the largest franchising systems in the home services industry in North America.
From 2017 to 2022 he was President of North America at Krispy Kreme, overseeing the company’s retail business and he previously spent six years as President of International at Popeyes, where he was key to the brand’s global expansion.
Skehan, who served in the US Navy, has also been Chief Operating Officer of Wendy’s/Arby’s International and has held senior operations, marketing and management positions with Churchill Downs Incorporated, Nabisco and PepsiCo Restaurants International.

It was founded in 1956 as Mike’s Subs with one location in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Renamed Mike’s Subs in 1975, it began franchising in 1987 as Jersey Mike’s Subs.
The business now has over 3,000 locations in the US and Canada and is one of the fastest-growing fast-casual restaurant chains in America, ranking #2 on Entrepreneur’s 2025 Franchise 500 and #6 on Yelp’s 2025 List of Fastest Growing Brands.

Jersey Mike’s international expansion
As President of International, Skehan will lead Jersey Mike’s multinational growth strategy, development, operations and marketing initiatives.

The company began its international expansion in 2024, establishing a strategic partnership with Redberry Restaurants, one of Canada’s largest restaurant operators, to open 300 locations in the country by 2034.
