Infinity Global, a packaging company based in Danville, will expand its presence in the city, with plans to add 150 jobs and make a $34.75 million investment, according to a Thursday news release from the governor’s office.

The company, located on Bridge Street, already employs 105 people in Danville. The expansion at the headquarters location will more than double that workforce.

The average wage for the new jobs is about $56,227, said Corrie Bobe, Danville’s economic development director.

The expansion project will begin immediately, with the full expansion taking place over the next five years, Bobe said.

“Infinity Global is showing its confidence in the people of Danville and Southside Virginia,” Gov. Glenn Youngkin said in the release. “Their continued growth demonstrates how world-class companies succeed when they invest in our talent and Virginia’s pro-business environment.”

Infinity Global was founded in Danville in 2005 and works with luxury retailers across 70 countries, the release says. The company designs and manufactures packaging for high-end fashion, jewelry and beauty projects.

“This expansion is a big win for our city. It shows Infinity Global is ready to take an already successful operation to the next level,” said Alonzo Jones, Danville’s mayor, in the release. “That means new jobs, a growing workforce, more opportunities for our residents, and more momentum for our local economy.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Danville to attract this project, according to the release. Youngkin approved a $750,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund, which is used for economic development incentives, for this project.

Infinity Global’s job creation will be supported by the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, a workforce training program created by VEDP and higher-education partners. The program’s services are provided at no cost to new and expanding companies, as an incentive for job creation, the release says.

“This expansion allows us to further strengthen our team and enhance our ability to deliver innovative, sustainable luxury packaging solutions to clients around the world,” said Infinity Global’s CEO and chairman, Ron Palmer, in the release.
