SILVER SPRING, Md. (7News) — Governor Wes Moore is expected to highlight how his budget proposal will support small businesses and drive economic development along the Purple Line corridor at a press conference on Monday afternoon.
Business owners and managers at a shopping plaza along 66th Avenue in Riverdale told 7News the nearby construction of the Metro line has led to fewer customers, due to increased traffic in the area and confusion as to where the plaza entrance is because of the ongoing construction.

As of mid-January, the Purple Line project was 87% finished with an anticipated opening of late December 2027, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
