The Hong Kong SAR government is stepping up efforts to help mainland enterprises expand globally. Its GoGlobal Task Force, launched last October, has held a major promotional event in Beijing, aimed at turning Hong Kong into a launchpad for Chinese companies going overseas. The seminar brings together policymakers, financial institutions, and corporate leaders to explore how mainland firms can leverage Hong Kong’s global financial platform, legal system, and professional services to expand internationally. During the seminar, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly promote and assist mainland enterprises with their overseas expansion plans. As China places greater emphasis on innovation-driven growth under its 15th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong is positioning itself to support the country’s high-tech development with strong funding and investment backing.
