FOSTORIA, Ohio (WTVG) – A Fostoria business owner has been arrested for allegedly selling cocaine and using his business to support the operation.
According to court records, Epolito Rodriguez was arrested on Feb. 27 and charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
According to the document, authorities witnessed Rodriguez park in a gravel lot west of the Walmart on West Trenton Avenue in Findlay. Investigators then observed a black semi-truck with and a man standing in the sleeper berth of the truck.
According to the documents, authorities then saw Rodriguez moving two heavy duffel bags into Power Up, a business owned by Rodriguez.
Later that night, authorities near Columbus located the semi-truck and pulled it over. While searching the truck, they allegedly found numerous duct-taped packages of money under the mattress. The money was counted and totaled $665,480, according to the documents.
After obtaining a search warrant, authorities searched Power Up and located two large duffel bags that contained approximately 40 kilogram bricks of what is believed to be cocaine, according to the documents.
According to the documents, two additional kilograms of suspected cocaine were in two other locations in the business. A small scale was found near an open brick of cocaine.
Investigators said they also found about $13,000 during the search. $10,000 of that was found in a shoebox hidden in the ceiling of the office at Power Up.
The document claims that investigators found large amounts of money in Rodriguez’s home that was counted and totalled $139,100.
