CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) – The Lyons District in downtown Clinton is home to dozens of family-owned businesses operating for multiple generations.
Chad Jensen from the Lyons Business and Professional Association the Bicycle Station, has operated for over 77 years.
The Lyons Business and Professional Association advocates for more than 75 locally owned businesses in the area including ones with deep community roots.
Other long-standing businesses include Sweetheart Bakery, Rastrelli’s Restaurant and Don’s Jewelry.
The neighborhood features the Paint It Back building, which gets repainted annually by visiting mural artists.
The building has been repainted three times, with a festival celebrating each new iteration.
“They’ve created a really nice gem right here in our little neighborhood. And it’s definitely generating lots of interest and bringing people up this way,” Jensen said.
