ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCT) — Due to the exhaustion of federal funding, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles said they will end the extended early-morning hours at 90 driver license offices.
Officials said these offices have opened at 7am instead of the standard 8am to provide additional customer service time, but can no longer continue without funding from the ARPA SFRF grant they received.
“Unfortunately, this funding stream has been exhausted, and we’ll no longer be able to provide this extra hour of service at our offices,” NCDMV commissioner Paul Tine said.
