A Garner business is temporarily closed after a vehicle plowed into its front doors on Tuesday.
Around 12 p.m., Garner police responded to the incident at the Renew Day Spa, near Aversboro Road.
Danielle Spohr owns the business and tells WRAL the driver of the vehicle was trying to park when they accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes. The SUV crashed into the building as a result.
Luckily, the driver was uninjured and safely removed themselves.
The owner said no one was inside the shop at the time of the incident, and all staffers are safe.
Spohr recalled a flood that damaged the business almost a year and a half ago. Those repairs were made just a couple of weeks ago, she says.
“It’s hard. It’s hard to see it like this, this is my baby, [I’ve] been here 15 years, lots of good memories, beautiful clients,” Spohr said. “Now we just have to rebuild.”
The investigation is ongoing.
