Local small businesses can often be the perfect place to find unique gifts for the holiday season. Shopping small does not mean spending more money either. To make supporting locally owned businesses even more enticing this holiday season, several Springfield shop owners are running sales and promotions from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
Here are a few of the deals shoppers can take advantage of at Springfield stores and shops this Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29.
Those shopping small in downtown Springfield on Nov. 29 can receive a “I shopped small” sticker, while supplies last.
417 Craft Crawl at Farmers Park

The Farmers Market of the Ozarks is hosting a variety of local artists for a Small Business Saturday event that will help shoppers find unique and locally crafted gifts for this holiday season. The first 100 people through the door will also receive a free, special edition 417 Craft Crawl tote bag.
Small Business Saturday GLO Market
Hours: 12 p.m.-6 p.m.

In honor of the holiday, the GLO Center is hosting a special edition of its GLO Market on Small Business Saturday. The event invite shoppers to browse gifts from local artists and queer-owned businesses.
J.L. Long Traders

Deals: J.L. Long Traders will offer 15% storewide, offer locally baked holiday treats and photos with the Heritage Cafeteria Santa. On Small Business Saturday, 15% of sales will benefit Isabel’s House. From 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Lala Links permanent jewelry will be in store to offer shoppers a lasting accessory.

Deals: The local downtown staple is running a series of deals throughout the entire holiday weekend. On Black Friday, the first 10 customers receive 50% off one item. Then, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., shoppers can enjoy 30% off storewide, and between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., 20% off storewide.
Similarly, the first 10 customers will also receive a 50% discount on one item on Small Business Saturday. Shoppers will also be able to draw for a 20-40% off discount on their entire purchase. On both Friday and Saturday, the online store at www.5poundapparel.com will see a 15% off promotion site-wide.
Encouraging shoppers to act fast on Cyber Monday, 5 Pound Apparel is offering a number of coupon codes with varying levels of discounts. Starting at 10:01 a.m. on Monday, shoppers can use code 5#40 for 40% off (only 5 available); 5#30 for 30% off (only 10 available); 5#25 for 25% off (only 15 available); or 5#20 for 20% which are unlimited. If the code doesn’t work, it means that offer has already run out.

On Small Business Saturday, the store will give out double the punches on punch cards and will run a buy-one-get-one 50% off plants at equal or lesser value.
Deep discounts continue into Sunday with select plants up to 75% off. On Cyber Monday, online shoppers will receive 30% off plants with $12 flat-fee shipping using CYBER25 at checkout.

For those too busy to head out to shop this holiday weekend, there are other opportunities to find local sellers to meet all holiday needs.
The Springfield Regional Arts Council will host its annual $100 & Under Market on Friday, Dec. 5. It coincides with December’s First Friday Art Walk and will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The market is an opportunity to shop from more than 40 local artists all in one place. Free parking will be available in Bear Park North.
