Chattanooga’s first Whataburger location opened in East Ridge.
BJ’s Wholesale Club opened its first Chattanooga store in late January. Located at 401 Northgate Mall Drive in Hixson, the Chattanooga store is the sixth BJ’s to open in Tennessee.
Leaders from Astec Industries, which makes equipment for the road construction industry, opened a renovated training facility to teach customers how to operate and maintain the machines Astec sells.

The historic Chattanooga Choo Choo train station was listed for sale in late January. According to the listing from the Charlotte, North Carolina-based Berkeley Capital Advisors, the terminal at 1400 Market St. is 90% occupied by tenants and produces more than $1.3 million in annual net income.
After pushback from a local historic church and Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp, the developers of a Patten Parkway parcel downtown withdrew their rezoning request.
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati announced that the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga would be receiving $140,000 in funding.
Erlanger Health and Bradley Medical Center have signed a letter aimed at deepening their partnership and expanding pediatric emergency services, the two hospital systems announced.
Rock City received the initial OK for a rezoning that will allow a gondola system to be built up the side of Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
United Airlines will offer nonstop flights to Denver from the Chattanooga Airport from May 23 to Oct. 24. Additionally, the airport saw a record-breaking year for travel in 2025, reporting nearly 632,400 boardings.
