NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first Veteran Business Owner’s Forum Wednesday.
Veteran entrepreneurs will network with business leaders and attend a panel on expanding opportunities for veteran-owned businesses. Veteran business owners will share experiences about transitioning from military to civilian life and turning business ideas into reality.
“Our veterans are an integral part of our workforce,” Erin Aylor, Senior VP of Marketing and Events for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, said. “They’ve served our country. They have skills and knowledge and insights that is unlike anything that you get in another profession.”
The chamber has never hosted an event specifically tailored to veterans before this forum.
“I think there’s definitely a need in the region and clearly we’ve hit a mark and so we’re looking forward to continuing to evaluate and see ways that we can further support them in the future,” Aylor said.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce building in North Charleston.
