Small Business of the Week: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, has announced Lake City Veterinary Service of Calhoun County in central Iowa as her small business of the week. After graduating from Iowa State University and serving in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, Dr. Paul Armbrecht established Lake City Veterinary Service in 1974 with his wife. For decades, the small business provided high-quality veterinary care to livestock producers across Iowa. In 2015, Armbrecht transitioned the clinic to an independent practice and continues to serve the community through farm calls and work in livestock markets, ensuring the health and success of Iowa’s livestock industry. Ernst, chair of the Senate’s Small Business Committee, is naming one exceptional small business of the week in each of Iowa’s counties during this congressional session.
