A French-inspired restaurant in Boise is racing to stay open, with its owner saying the business has 30 days to turn things around or face closing.
Amélies, located just off Cole Road in southwest Boise, transformed from a seafood boil house into what the owner describes as a unique dining experience featuring French-inspired dishes. Owner Jason Wang, a young chef, named the restaurant after his wife, Amelie.
The restaurant’s concept has evolved over time, shifting from what began as a Country Bay Bistro into French-inspired elevated dining. Now, Wang and the restaurant’s owners are fighting to keep the doors open in what was described as a “sink or swim” industry.
“It’s hard. Most restaurants, these things happen, eventually you fall down,” Wang said.
Rather than closing immediately, Wang is using the deadline as motivation to launch a “30-day restaurant challenge,” a social media effort aimed at rallying community support.

As part of that push, Amélies is hosting a Community Night this Wednesday from 6-9, featuring live music and an opportunity for customers to support the restaurant.
