One of America’s e-commerce giants, Amazon, announced a second Prime Day that will take place in October 2025. However, there are certain rules that have been changed that could affect thousands of consumers. This Big Deals Day is a highlight for many consumers, and they may just have another opportunity to purchase what they missed previously.
Amazon’s Popular Prime Day
In case some of the consumers may have missed out on Amazon Prime Day in 2025, which is the e-tailer’s four-day-long sale event, they have another opportunity. This event is one that took place this past July in 2025. Consumers now have a second opportunity to partake in steep discounts ahead of the holiday season. That is because earlier today, Amazon made an announcement of the dates of the retailer’s annual Prime Big Deal Days sale.
This day will officially take place on October 7 and 8, 2025. Also, based on what is known about the Prime Big Deal Days, the discounts consumers can expect to find on are kitchen appliances, fashion, and tech. Additionally, many of the deals that will be available during the October period will be just as good as the deals from July.
Although this is a savings event, it is technically live for only 48 hours. The Prime Day that was held in July 2025 was for a duration of 96 hours. It is often seen that early deals are making their appearance, even days or weeks prior to the event.
The retailers Prime Big Deals Day and Prime Day
Many may think of a Prime Big Deal Day as a fall version of that of a Prime Day. These are basically the same event, which includes exclusive discounts only for Prime members. However, these days normally take place at different times of the year. Prime Day usually takes place in July, and this is when the company will slash prices off products across all categories. These products include items such as home essentials, everyday appliances, and everything outside of that.
Because Prime Big Deal Days typically falls in October, the event tends to showcase the hot-ticket holiday products. This allows consumers to be able to check off their holiday shopping list early and gain the hottest gifts at a discount. Here consumers can think about appliances such as tech, TVs, toys, best-selling beauty and so more.
In addition, when it comes to the Prime Big Deal Days, it is typically shorter, where it is only two days long. The most recent Prime Day that took place in July 2025, was four days long for the first time in the retailer’s history. The reason for this was because each day was paired with “Today’s Big Deals,” which were product categories curated by Amazon which were on a massive discount for a limited time. At the time of this specific publication, there is still uncertainty about whether the retailer will feature a “Today’s Big Deals” too, at the Prime Big Deals Days event.
Is the October Prime Day worth it?
The October Prime Day is definitely worth it. Even though Amazon has not yet released an official list of the October Prime Day deals to the public, the retailer always seems to offer competitive discounts across every category on the site.
According to the GH Editorial Commerce Director Jessica Teich, the holiday shopping season has been getting earlier and earlier each year. She stated that the Amazon’s October Prime Day is her favourite time to get her holiday gift shopping done. Teich further stated that “Waiting until Black Friday and Cyber Monday feels foolish when there are so many great deals to be had earlier in the season—and, if you shop now, you don’t have to worry about potential inventory issues and shipping delays spoiling your holidays.”
