Amazon’s Alexa+ upgrades come with new voices. Take a listen.
Amazon’s virtual assistant has been updated with new voices with the launch of Alexa+.
E-commerce giant Amazon said March 17 it’s unveiling one-hour and three-hour deliveries for 90,000 products “typically found in a local supercenter.”
The news comes weeks after Amazon announced it was pulling the plug on its Fresh and Go stores, which include four Fresh stores in New Jersey.
There are also plans for a service called “Amazon Now,” being piloted in Seattle and Philadelphia, which would offer 30-minute deliveries of household essentials and fresh groceries.
Tuesday’s news means that Prime members can pay $9.99 for one-hour delivery or $4.99 for three-hour delivery on such goods as paper products, health and beauty items, and over-the-counter medications, Amazon said.

Non-Prime members would have to pay $19.99 for one-hour delivery and $14.99 for three-hour delivery. The service is being offered in more than 2,000 towns and cities across the U.S., Amazon said.
“Our customers are busier than ever and are looking for new ways to save time while keeping their households running,” Udit Madan, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, said in a statement.
“We’re excited to say that two decades after Prime first launched, we’re still innovating to make delivery even faster, while maintaining the same everyday low prices and vast selection Amazon is known for,” Madan said.
