Alaska Airlines has been prepping for an international expansion ever since it announced a plan to merge with Hawaiian Airlines in 2023.

“I can tell you, for many years, I didn’t think it would happen,” said Alaska’s Chief Operating Officer, Jason Berry, at the Skift Aviation Forum in Fort Worth, Texas. “And it’s not just happening. It’s coming, and now we’re coming, and now we’re actually preparing for it.”
