A Defining Week at Davos

A Defining Week at Davos

Table of Contents

We had an incredible week at Davos — and it was a powerful reminder of how far Business Insider has come, and how strongly our journalism and brand resonate on the world stage.

I’m proud of how we showed up, and of the journalism, creativity, and teamwork that made it happen. Across our reporting, products, and events, Davos showcased our ability to engage senior leaders and serve a curious and ambitious business audience. I was repeatedly stopped by people who know and love Business Insider, and it was energizing to hear firsthand how much our work matters to them.

Our newsroom absolutely nailed it! Seamless collaboration between our journalists in Davos and the global newsroom powered fast, smart, and distinctively BI coverage all week.

We launched our first pop-up newsletter, Davos Diary, anchored by Dan DeFrancesco — with more than 3,000 sign-ups and an extraordinarily high rate of return visits. It quickly became a must-read along the promenade and is now a model we can replicate for other major moments in the news cycle.

We owned the week editorially: Our live blog featured 180 posts, powered by our new live blog capabilities — making it seamless to publish in real time and easy for readers to stay up to speed. We were also trending at the top of Google results for Davos!

In true BI fashion, we broke through by taking people inside what was actually happening at Davos — and how it felt. Ben Bergman’s first-person reporting from inside President Donald Trump’s Davos speech was our top story of the week, and he was invited to discuss his observations on CNN twice. Coverage highlighted what happened inside USA House, one of the buzzed-about spaces on the promenade, including Ben’s first-person experience on Day 1.

And we delighted our audience! Our coverage was smart and fun — from behind-the-scenes looks at Davos street style to one CEO’s tips for standing out in the crowd.

We also brought our journalism to life through three standout events, featuring excellent debate and discussion:

  • Future of Work Breakfast, moderated by Aki Ito and presented by Indeed, with senior leaders from Cisco, SAP, Deloitte, Salesforce, Zurich Insurance, and more.
  • Future in Focus Dinner, moderated by Jamie Heller and presented by ServiceNow, convening leaders from SAP, IBM, PayPal, Bain Capital, Lightspeed, NEA, Palantir, and others.
  • Business Insider Executive Reception at the Grandhotel Belvédère, presented by PMI, welcoming 80+ senior business and policy leaders.

We’re already in talks about Davos 2027 with sponsors eager to partner, and BI Live has excellent momentum coming into the year, trending +29% above goal for Q1.

Davos was a standout week for Business Insider, bringing our journalism to life on the world stage through standout reporting, smart products, and high-impact events.
