Her sister says 24-year-old Cherrish Nunley, a mother of two, was shot multiple times.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A grieving Jacksonville family is searching for answers after a woman was found dead behind a Mandarin business Saturday evening.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says officers were called just after 5 p.m. to the 3800 block of Sunbeam Road, where they found an unresponsive woman behind a business in the area. Paramedics pronounced her dead on scene.
On Sunday, her sister identified her as 24-year-old Cherrish Nunley, a mother of two young children.
Nunley’s sister told First Coast News that Cherrish was her only living relative. She believes her sister was shot multiple times behind the Chuze Fitness on Sunbeam Road, though JSO has not confirmed the cause of death.
JSO has also not released Nunley’s name and says the investigation remains active. Detectives noted there is no threat to the community at this time.
Nunley’s sister is now pleading for the public’s help in identifying whoever is responsible.
“She was killed in cold blood. She never got into trouble. She was a bright, beautiful girl, a wonderful mom and aunt, the best sister, and a great daughter,” wrote the sister on a GoFundMe page. “We will forever remember her, and she will not be another statistic. We will fight for justice. We will fight for her babies. We will fight for her.”
