THE LINE AT PIONEER PIT BEEF IS OUT THE FRONT DOOR AT LUNCHTIME. ONCE AGAIN, I SEE ALL THE PEOPLE THERE WAS MISSING FOR A FEW WEEKS. YEAH, THEY’RE BACK TO WORK. TIGER SAUCE AND ONIONS. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS BACK OPEN, AND WORKERS AT THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION IN WOODLAWN ARE BACK IN THE OFFICE AND HUNGRY FOR LUNCH. HAPPY FOR EVERYBODY. ALL THE GUYS ARE HAPPY TO BE BACK TO WORK. YEAH. SO YEAH. SO WE’RE GOOD WITH THAT. PIONEER STRUGGLED OVER THE LAST 43 DAYS WITH FEW CUSTOMERS DURING THE SHUTDOWN. THEY SAY WE’RE HAPPY. BACK IN OFFICE. AND AS YOU CAN SEE, BUSINESS IS GETTING BACK. SO THANK GOD. NADIM SAYS HIS BUSINESS WAS DOWN 50% DURING THE SHUTDOWN. HE DOESN’T KNOW THAT HE’LL EVER RECOUP THAT MONEY. I DON’T THINK SO BECAUSE LOST. LOST. BUT AT LEAST, YOU KNOW WE’RE GETTING BACK ON OUR FEET. YOU KNOW, AS YOU CAN SEE, IT’S IMPROVING. SO THAT’S THAT’S A GOOD THING. HE’S HOPEFUL BUSINESS WILL CONTINUE TO DO WELL. AND THE GOVERNMENT DOESN’T SHUT DOWN AGAIN WHEN THIS FUNDING RUNS OUT IN JANUARY. OH, I HOPE NOT. I DON’T WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT LONG. I THINK IT SHOULD BE FINE. I THINK THEY THEY WILL WORK OUT BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN. THERE’S STILL NO WORD ON WHEN THOSE FEDERAL WORKERS WILL GET THEIR BACK PAY.
