MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) – The Oneida County Board of Adjustment has voted to reinstate the business permit for Minocqua Brewing Company (MBC).
The ruling was made during a public hearing on Thursday at the Oneida County Courthouse in Rhinelander.
The fight over permits has been going on for years since the county initially revoked MBC owner Kirk Bangstad’s administrative review permit on August 2, 2023.
The decision followed a temporary restraining order Bangstad filed against the county.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, MBC says, “This victory doesn’t end the five-year battle we’ve had with both the Town of Minocqua and Oneida County. There are still more lawsuits to deal with, but it weakens their position dramatically.”
Additionally, our reporting has included Bangstad appealing the revocation of his administrative review permit, allowing the brewery to remain open.
As well as Bangstad’s lawsuit against the Town of Minocqua and several key figures, saying they violated both the U.S. Constitution and Wisconsin state law.
NewsChannel 7 has reached out to Bangstad for any additional comment on the latest ruling. At the time of publishing, we are waiting for a response.
