TWINSBURG, Ohio (WOIO) – Giesecke+Devrient ePayments America, Inc. said it will permanently close its Twinsburg facility, prompting 240 employees to be laid off.
The business located at 1960 and 2020 Enterprise Parkway engineers “customized security tech with passion and precision in three segments: Digital Security, Financial Platforms and Currency Technology,” according to the G+D website.
G+D notified Twinsburg Mayor Sam Scaffide, Director of Summit County Department of Job and Family Services & State Dislocated Worker Services Terri Burns, and Executive of Summit County Ilene Shapiro, of the facility closure on Nov. 3.
The notice is in compliance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which requires employers to formally alert government leaders of impending closures.
The approximate 240 layoffs will happen as soon as Jan. 30, 2026, and is expected to continue through Dec. 30, 2026, the notice stated.
The classifications of jobs impacted, as well as the exact number of employees within each classification, will be shared 60 days in advance, G+D said.
G+D confirmed their employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights.
What led to the closure is unknown at this time.
