On Nov. 6, 2025, the DOT and FAA announced a temporary 10% reduction in air traffic rates at 40 high-traffic airports nationwide. This proactive measure is intended to ease pressure on air traffic controllers, citing concerns over controller fatigue and stress related to the recent government shutdown and lack of pay.
