Inditex Elevates Lefties in Italy During Strategic Repositioning and Global Growth

Inditex gives a new boost to Lefties with the opening of a new store in Italy. The store, located in the Leone Shopping Center of Lonato, in Lonato del Garda, is another step forward in the brand repositioning and international growth strategy of the Spanish fashion retail giant.

 

With this opening, Lefties also introduces its Lefties Home proposal, a collection dedicated to home furnishings and textiles. The store, however, will also offer the collections of woman, man, teen girl, kids, baby and newborn, as well as footwear, sportswear, underwear and homewear, the company said in a statement.

 

Lefties is in the midst of a repositioning process. The goal is to maintain its characteristic reduced ticket, while finding its place within the offer of a renewed Inditex. In recent months it has renewed its management team, diversified its offer to a Home line and prepares, for next year, its expansion in major European markets.

 

 

 

 

In July last year, Lefties began a transformation process that took shape in May this year with the launch of the first home line, and a first collection with a warmer and softer style than the one that had traditionally characterized the chain.

 

In 2026, Inditex plans to launch Lefties in France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany. For the moment, it has started with Italy. The new stores will already have the chain’s new image and offer. In fact, one of the novelties of this opening is that the company introduces both Lefties Home and Easy Pay systems, technology to scan the garments and the customer can make the payment autonomously, removing the security tags; as well as intelligent fitting rooms. The store has an area of 3,000 square meters.

 

In this line, in September, Inditex put the name Lefties on its half-year results for the first time in the chain’s history. Although Lefties’ figures have always been included alongside those of Zara and Zara Home, this year the chain’s name appeared verbatim in the document. In total, the three concepts accumulated sales of €13.15 billion, 0.89% more than the previous year, and accounting for 71.63% of the group’s total turnover. Inditex did disclose the number of Lefties stores, which at the end of July reached 210 stores.

 

Inditex closed the first half of 2025 with total sales of €18,357 million, 1.6% more than a year ago, maintaining the more moderate pace of growth already seen in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Net income was €2,791 million, up 0.8%, a performance equal to that of the first quarter, while the company’s margin stood at €10,703 million, equivalent to a sales ratio of 58.3%, the same percentage as in the first half of 2024.
