Carousel Logistics has appointed Dieter Schneider as its new Customs and Brokerage Director to expand its service offering into new markets and address evolving customer needs amid global economic uncertainty.
Bringing over two decades of experience, Schneider will lead Carousel’s growth into new regions while overseeing the rollout of technologies such as artificial intelligence to complement existing electronic data interchange and optical character recognition systems.
“I was drawn to Carousel Logistics for its strong focus on customer service, specialised expertise in time critical logistics, and the opportunity to be part of a growing, dynamic team,” said Schneider.
Commenting on today’s trade environment, he added, “The global economic outlook can be summarised in one word: unpredictable. With tariffs, sanctions, new sustainability requirements, and ongoing changes to the UK-EU border, it has never been more important to have a trusted customs broker by your side.”
Carousel’s in-house, independently audited customs brokers hold AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) accreditation and operate through the company’s bespoke service management platform, Gateway.
“Borders should not be blockers to trade, or hurdles to overcome,” Schneider said. “Whether it be a different customs procedure, or the use of preferential agreements to save cost, there are often more efficient means to achieve customers’ goals, rather than simply relying on familiar methods.”
He added that his immediate focus would be on understanding customer needs, before working with the team to expand the brokerage offering into new markets, optimise processes, and introduce technologies that enhance compliance, accuracy, and productivity.
This appointment aligns with the wider growth strategy of the pan-European DANX Carousel Group, as it continues to strengthen its position as a leading time-critical logistics provider through strategic acquisitions across key markets.
