COLUMBIA — A bicyclist has died after he was hit by a dump truck in the intersection of Rangeline Street and Business Loop 70 in Columbia, a Columbia police officer told KOMU 8 at the scene.
Boone County Joint Communications reported a crash at the intersection through a text alert at 2:18 p.m. Monday.
Police officers and EMS gave emergency care to the bicyclist at the scene, but the man died from his injuries, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.
An officer at the scene said the dump truck driver was a man. The driver was not injured, according to the news release.
