RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A suspect has been arrested on felony warrants after the Reno Police Department says they were caught squatting in a vacant business.

At around 8:00 a.m. on March 25, officers with RPD were called to the 5000 block of Smithridge Drive for reports of someone unlawfully occupying the roof of what used to be Once Upon A Child.

They say that over the last several weeks, property management reported suspicious activity on the roof. Police were able to make contact with the suspect after around an hour and take him into custody.

The suspect, who was not named, had previously been trespassed from the business and had an active felony warrant out of California. He told officers he had been living in the wall space for around six months.

He is now facing multiple charges.
