The search for a missing Oakland mother and business owner continued Tuesday.

Amy Hillyard, 52, has been missing since last Wednesday after leaving her home near Lake Merritt for a walk.

A family friend told NBC Bay Area that loved ones remain hopeful and that hundreds of people have joined the search.

In an update Tuesday, Oakland police said they were joined by local sheriff’s offices, friends, family and volunteers in a search focused on Diamond Peak, where recent video footage placed Hillyard at about 4:30 p.m. on the day she was last seen.

Hillyard stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds, according to police. She has blonde hair and hazel eyes.

Her family said she was last wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers with a black stripe.

Residents are asked to check home security cameras from Wednesday afternoon for possible clues.

Anyone with information about Hillyard’s whereabouts is asked to contact Oakland police at 510-238-3641.
