JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Pete Tharp and his wife founded their business 50 years ago, and all these years later, he still goes to work.
Pete and Nora Tharp are the owners of Pete’s Town Western Wear in Jonesboro, which they founded in 1975. Pete said it started as a grocery store and then evolved into what it is today.
Decades later, at the age of 90, Pete still shows up doing what he loves. He works with his granddaughter, Andrea Drove.
“I just love being around people. I’m not a homebody. I like to be out in public. I’ve never liked to be at home. I’m a goer, I am a doer,” Pete said.
Pete said that he wants to continue for as long as possible and that he has no plans of retiring anytime soon.
